Why choose a Hospital vs a Surgery Center?

Taking comfort that your surgery will be performed in a hospital is as important as choosing the surgeon who performs it. Dr. Yugueros performs her surgeries at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a 110-bed hospital featuring some of the most advanced medical technologies available. Serving the city of Johns Creek and the surrounding communities.

Hospital facilities are better able to treat emergencies and complications in the unlikely event that they should arise. If the procedure is being performed at a surgery center and there’s a complication, the patient will likely be transferred to a local hospital anyway.

Hospital facilities are also able to handle procedures that require an overnight stay or longer recoveries. Some procedures require one to three days in the hospital for observation and recovery. These overnight stays cannot be provided by an outpatient surgical center.

Most diagnostic testing, if needed, can be performed on-site in a hospital, saving time.

She then completed her General Surgery residency as well as her Plastic and Reconstructive surgery training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Yugueros specializes in Abdominoplasty, Breast Augmentation, Mastopexy, Liposuction, Breast Reduction and Reconstruction, Buttock Augmentation, Facelift, and Blepharoplasty. She is currently the Chief of Plastic Surgery at EJCH and has been for the past nine years.
