Cellfina Cellulite Treatment
Do you avoid showing off your legs or do you steer clear of swimsuits due to cellulite on your thighs and buttocks? Luna Plastic Surgery is proud to offer Cellfina™ to the Johns Creek – Sandy Springs – Marietta areas. In just one office visit, Cellfina™ can reduce the appearance of cellulite in buttocks and thighs.
Cellfina™ is the only FDA-cleared, minimally invasive procedure clinically proven to treat cellulite. Where you currently have bumps, nooks and crannies, you can now have smoother, sleeker skin with our new Cellfina treatment.
Cellulite has many causes such as hormonal issues, genetics, diet and lifestyle, but the dimply, puckered look the skin takes on is caused by fibrous bands beneath the skin that shrink or tighten up, causing a the skin to bunch up and pull down. Cellfina treats cellulite by working on these fibrous, connective bands, releasing the tension that then causes the skin to smooth out.
The Cellfina procedure is done in-office, and lasts about one hour. Effects can be seen in about 3 days, and can last for at least two years. It has a patient satisfaction rating of 94% after 12 months.
The in-office treatment takes about an hour, depending on the number of dimples being treated and the patient’s individual needs. It is a cellulite solution that doesn’t involve general anesthesia, so afterward patients are able to go home.
Although categorized as minimally invasive, Cellfina is a needle based technique, and also requires injections of a local anesthetic numbing agent on the areas that will be treated. The doctor will also administer a mild sedative and pain medication if deemed appropriate for the patient. The patient is assessed and then the areas of the skin to be treated are marked with a medical grade pen. Afterwards, the numbing local anesthetic injections will be administered.
Once the local anesthesia has taken effect, the doctor will begin the procedure. The Cellfina apparatus is placed over the area to be treated, and using a suction process, the area of the skin is pulled up into the treatment device. The doctor will then begin to systematically penetrate the cellulite affected area until all marked areas have been treated.
Following the Cellfina procedure you are advised to wear a compression garment such as Spanx. You can go home, and although you can go “about your day”, because of the numbing agent, and the mild to moderate discomfort you may have experienced, you will most likely want to go home and rest. You will have a follow up appointment the next day to remove any bandages.
For the next few days you will be advised to continue to wear the compression garments. You may also see a bit of swelling, and perhaps bruising, and this will subside after about one week.
Cellfina is truly a revolutionary cellulite treatment for anyone who is unhappy about any dimpling and bumpy looking skin. Contact us and stop in to be evaluated to see if you’re a good candidate for Cellfina.
