Bichectomy (Buccal Fat Removal)
Bichectomy (buccal fat removal) is a simple and safe procedure that is done in the office under local anesthesia where the buccal fat pads (located in each cheek) are removed. This procedure is ideal for patients that have a very round face or full checks to give them more defined cheek structure and elongates the face giving the patient a more esthetically appealing look. The procedure only takes about an hour and the patient can drive themselves home after. Sutures are typically removed between 5-7 days after the procedure.
